Hazelnut Milk Benefits for Skin — From a Chocolate Dream to a Silky Soap Bar
Share
It started with chocolate.
Hazelnut chocolate cream, to be precise — the kind you spread on everything and feel no guilt about whatsoever. And then hazelnut milk in coffee. That warm, slightly sweet, nutty flavour that makes an ordinary morning feel like a small luxury.
I have always loved hazelnuts. In every form.
So when I made my first camel milk soap and felt that quiet magic of milk in a bar — the creaminess, the softness, the way it changed everything — a thought arrived quite naturally:
If I can do it with camel milk… why not hazelnut milk?
The First Attempt — and What I Learned
I went to a local store, picked up hazelnut milk, and got to work.
The soap came out. Overall, it wasn't bad. But something was missing. There was a flatness to it — a distance between what I imagined and what I held in my hands. I kept thinking: the milk. It wasn't fresh. It wasn't pure. It had been sitting on a shelf, processed, preserved, far from the nut it came from.
I wanted the real thing.
Learning to Make Hazelnut Milk from Scratch
So I researched. I learned. I found my way into the process of making fresh hazelnut milk in my workshop — soaking the nuts, blending them slowly, straining the milk until it was smooth and fragrant and alive.
And then I made the soap again.
The difference was immediate. The bar was silky in a way I hadn't felt before — solid, smooth, with a fresh, gentle scent of hazelnut that didn't shout but whispered. I held it and felt genuinely happy. Like a kid who just discovered something wonderful.
That is the bar that became the Hazelnut Milk Soap at Kemiskhan Atelier.
Hazelnut Milk Benefits for Skin
Hazelnut milk is not just delicious — it is remarkably kind to skin. Here is what it brings to every bar:
- Rich in Vitamin E — A powerful antioxidant that protects skin from environmental damage, supports cell renewal, and helps maintain a youthful, healthy glow.
- Deeply moisturising — The natural fatty acids in hazelnut milk — oleic and linoleic acid — penetrate the skin barrier and provide long-lasting hydration without feeling heavy.
- Naturally astringent — Hazelnut has a gentle toning effect that helps minimise the appearance of pores and balance oily or combination skin.
- Soothing and anti-inflammatory — Calms irritated, sensitive, or reactive skin — making it ideal for daily use even in hot climates.
- Rich in B vitamins — Vitamins B1, B2, and B6 nourish the skin and support its natural repair process.
- Gentle lather — When used in handmade soap, hazelnut milk creates a creamy, luxurious lather that cleanses without stripping the skin's natural oils.
Why Fresh Milk Makes All the Difference
Store-bought hazelnut milk is convenient — but it is also diluted, stabilised, and often sweetened. For skincare, and especially for soap, freshness matters. The nutrients are more intact. The scent is more alive. The result on your skin is simply better.
This is why at Kemiskhan Atelier, we make our hazelnut milk fresh in the workshop before every batch. It takes more time. But your skin feels the difference.
